Fundraising for the Jane Tomlinson Appeal

The Appeal which was set up by the late Jane Tomlinson CBE recently celebrated reaching its latest fundraising milestone of £7.6million thanks to the continued support of people across Yorkshire and beyond.

Jane Tomlinson raised £1.85m for children’s and cancer charities before her untimely death from cancer aged just 43 in 2007. She made headlines across the world by competing in a series of epic endurance challenges from the London Marathon, ironman and triathlon competitions, to a 4,200 mile cycle ride across the width of the USA – despite being diagnosed with incurable cancer. Jane knew her life was limited but wanted to create a vehicle which would allow others across communities the opportunity to raise money for good causes close to their own hearts and to share in the excitement and fulfilment that she had experienced through her own fundraising events.

The charity set up by Jane now continues her legacy encouraging people to take on a challenge raising money to support children’s and cancer charities across the region. The Appeal not only funds projects in Jane’s name but also provides vital grants bi-annually to charities across Yorkshire, Lancashire, Lincolnshire and the Midlands.

All the profits from the Ultimate Team Challenge will be going to the Jane Tomlinson Appeal.
